Vikings Rule the Field

Vikings defense had a strong three-and-out to start Friday night's matchup against the Braves. Vikings started strong on offense with a 79 yard punt return from sophomore Riely Weiss.“A great punt return, it looked like he was jogging at one point,” Teays Valley coach Mark Weber said, “then he just sprinted out… that starts off the game with momentum.’’ Vikings offence was lights out on the field with their defense holding the Braves to no scored points. Vikings went into half with a 21-0 lead. Logan Elm’s sophomore quarterback, Skylar Drum, was dominated by the Viking defense holding him to 108 rushing yards and five passing yards. Vikings senior quarterback, Brandon Coleman, went 10 for 14 with 142 passing yards. Coleman connected with Jacob Blackburn and Riely Weiss for two touchdown passes. The Vikings offense cruised by in the second half and took a 42-0 win over the Braves. Vikings travel to Fairfield Union for their next friday night's contest.

Vikings Finish Professional

The Vikings entered Friday's game knowing it was senior night and that they had to leave their hearts on the field and they did just that. The Vikings opening drive only took 61 yards and a touchdown pass for senior Brandon Coleman to Adjrain Settler to put the Vikings up 7-0. Vikings then went up 14-0 with a two yard run by Anastacio Rodriguez to finish the first. Vikings were controlling the ball. Vikings added on another touchdown to put them up 17-0 at halftime. Vikings defense allowed little yardage and not a lot of first downs; the Aces only had 77 yards in the first half. Aces were held to one touchdown and only 87 yards on the ground. Vikings quarterback Coleman had 108 yards on the ground and threw for 140 yards. Senior Eric Yates had ran the ball for 112 yards on 18 carries. These key seniors helped the Vikings to a successful year. Teays Valley took a final game win over the Aces 24-7. Teays Valley finished undefeated in the MSL.
